FYE1000 Academic and Career Success
This course will orient students to college; introduce the knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to be a successful college student; and assist with establishing academic, career, and personal goals. Topics include time management, academic success skills (note-taking, studying, test taking), information literacy, goal setting, motivation, stress management, academic planning, career exploration, and financial literacy. Students will also engage in activities related to self-awareness of interests, strengths, values, and personality as they relate to success in college and choosing a career. A major component of the course is developing a personal academic degree map and career action plan.
