G&R 2030 Wilderness Backpacking:

This course teaches wilderness users to practice responsible habits that promote the health and safety of self and others. Students are exposed to the theory and practice of outdoor leadership, teamwork and expedition behavior. Students will learn to live and travel in the wilderness within a framework of personal safety and care of the environment. Students will develop an awareness of how to apply "Leave No Trace" philosophy to their lives beyond the course. Students will apply principles of environmental ethics during the wilderness experience. This course may be repeated once if in a different location. (1-5 lect.) (Max 8)
