POLS 2315 War and International Conflict

This course examines conflict and conflict resolution in context of international politics. This course will be based on a historical consideration of war, in its various forms, and other forms of conflict in the global political arena. Theories and means of conflict resolution, with emphasis on the negotiation processes and mechanisms of global governance, will constitute the second major focus of the course. Additionally, a topical theme may be emphasized, such as insurgency/counter-insurgency, nuclear proliferation/non-proliferation, protracted conflicts, state-sponsored terrorism, ethnic conflict, and others.
