AS in Clinical Laboratory Science

The Associate in Science (AS) degree program with an area of study in Clinical Laboratory Science is limited to certified medical laboratory technologists possessing a required certification: ASCP or AMT; MLT or MT or NCA; CLS or CLT. Students must present a copy of the original certificate and current renewal card. The degree is a 60-credit program.

NOTE:

How Students Earn Credit in the Option:

  • Certification: ASCP or AMT; MLT or MT or NCA; CLS or CLT copy of original certificate and current renewal card.
  • Students whose medical laboratory technology training was not completed in a college credit setting should have no difficulty earning credits by prior learning assessment (PLA) for their options, assuming current or recent employment using a variety of laboratory methods.
  • Clinical courses are transferred since they are not available at the University.
