MLS 423 Serology

Study of the of the theoretical and technical aspects of antigens and antibodies in disease states, both in vivo and in vitro. Principles of serologic methods in relationship to clinical diagnosis and correlation with human disease. Emphasis is on epidemiology and diagnosis of infectious diseases. Lab provides instruction and experience with techniques and methods used for serological evaluation of infectious conditions. All techniques performed include result interpretation, problem solving and troubleshooting as it relates to patient test results.
