MLS 420 Analytical Clinical Chemistry

This course is an in-depth study of the analytical procedures used in Chemistry, normal and abnormal physiology, test interpretation and statistical quality control. The course includes lecture and laboratory instruction held at Mercy Integrated Clinical Laboratory. Topics include: Specimen Collection and Handling, analytical techniques, Carbohydrates, Nonprotein Nitrogen, Proteins, Enzymes, Liver Function, Blood Gases, Acid/Base Balance, Anion and Cations, Lipids, Body Fluid Analysis, Hormones, Tumor Markers, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, Toxicology, Quality control and Quality assurance.
