Types of Course Delivery Methods

Face-To-Face

A face-to-face course is one in which instruction is delivered fully on-site with face-to-face interaction between instructors and students. A face-to-face course may include use of computers, the internet or other electronic media. Students may be directed to online materials provided by publishers, or to other internet accessible sources as part of their coursework but the majority of the course instruction will take place in person.

Blended

A blended (also, hybrid) course has fewer in-person course meetings than a face-to-face. Between 25% and 80% of the course is delivered online. Blended courses use the College’s Learning Management System (Canvas) for the online portion of the course. Online portions of blended courses may be synchronous or asynchronous.

Online

An online course is provided entirely through the College’s Learning Management System (Canvas). No on-site class meetings are required. Course testing and other methods of assessment occur within the online environment, although proctored in-person exams may be required. Online courses may be synchronous or asynchronous.
