Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Explore the history, philosophy, and function of an independent juvenile justice system.
2. Discuss theories of delinquency causation.
3. Appraise the role of stakeholders involved in the juvenile justice system including law enforcement, the courts, attorneys, schools, juvenile service providers, the medical community, and department of family services.
4. Discuss the role of the family and other major social institutions such as religion and education in the lives of juveniles.
5. Compare intervention strategies within the juvenile justice system.
