WELD 1935 CNC Plasma Cutting

This course provides training using a Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) Plasma Cutting Table to develop the skills necessary to make high quality programed cuts on carbon steel plate. Topics include: Safety and Health in the Fabrication Shop, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM). The student will have the opportunity to program and cut out parts for the manufacturing sector as well as spending time making custom signs and art work (1 lect., 4 lab) IT

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Pass the S/P2 on line Welder Safety Test with a score of 100% to gain admittance to the welding lab.

2. Demonstrate safe working habits while in the welding lab.

3. Demonstrate the proper technique for general maintenance and cleaning of the Arc Pro 1200 cutting table.

4. Demonstrate the proper set up and use of the Arc Pro 1200 cutting table.

5. Demonstrate the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.

6. Demonstrate the use of Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.

7. Demonstrate the use of CNC cutting software.
