SPAN 1010 First Year Spanish I

The fundamental skills of the language are studied through a grammatical and conversational approach. Emphasis is placed on developing speaking, listening, writing and reading skills. Primarily for those with no previous language experience. (4 lect.)

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Express in written and verbal Spanish manner basic needs, likes and dislikes.

2. Engage in basic communication with native Spanish speakers.

3. Understand main ideas from diverse written and oral media in Spanish.

4. Develop awareness of Hispanic/Latino cultural traits.

5. Identify ethnic-shared aspects of the American and Hispanic/Latino culture.
