PHIL 1000 Intro to Philosophy

This is an introduction to philosophical problems of ethics, religion, epistemology, and metaphysics. Critical thinking skills will be developed through a study of elementary logic. Philosophical traditions of Eastern and Western cultures are compared. (3 lect.) HUM

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Describe and explain philosophical concepts from a variety of cultures verbally and in writing.

2. Analyze philosophical precepts from a variety of cultures, and explain how these precepts determine how members of individual cultures perceive phenomena.

3. Explore and analyze their own philosophical precepts.
