NAIS 3300 Federal Indian Law
This course surveys the law that applies to American Indians and tribal governments. History has played a crucial role in the development of Federal Indian law, and accordingly, is discussed throughout the course. (3 lect.)

Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Examine the Treaty Relationship between tribes and the Federal Government within the context of the US Constitution.
2. Argue U.S. Supreme Court decisions through test case scenarios in Policy for Indian Territory.
3. Defend Tribal Sovereignty through the Trust Relationship with the United States, as well as policy development in consultation with tribal nations.
4. Evaluate tribal nations from a social, political, and legal perspective.
5. Critique Federal Indian Policy effectiveness in the government-to-government relationship with tribes.
