NAIS 1005 Intercultural Communication
This course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge, skills, and tools to effectively function in intercultural environments situations, and relationships. Within this process, one focus will be communication between the American Indian and Euro- American cultures, although many different cultures will be included in this experience. The theoretical foundations and systematic structure of communication processes will lay the foundation from which intercultural relationships will be examined. Students earning credit in
NAIS 1005 may not earn credit in
COMM 1005. (3 lect.)

Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Identify the foundations of Intercultural Communication including, but not limited to, basic principles and concepts.
2. Develop Intercultural Communication skills including, but not limited to, speaking, listening, verbal messages, and nonverbal messages.
3. Use Intercultural Communication in relationships including, but not limited to, relationship fundamentals.
4. Apply Conflict Management in intercultural relationships.
