MUSC 0200 Convocation

Twice-monthly recital hour for students and guest performers. In addition to the scheduled convocations, students will be required to attend four approved concerts. Completion of four semesters with a grade of S is required for all music majors pursuing a music degree. Intended for, and required of music majors. Prerequisite: Concurrent in applied Music lessons: MUSC-1050, MUSC 1055, or MUSC 2070. (S/U Grading only)

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Attend all regularly scheduled convocation meetings

2. Perform at a minimum of one (1) convocation per semester

3. Attend all scheduled performances of the CWC Music Department

4. Attend four (4) non-department musical or cultural performances per semester. Students must submit programs and/or ticket stubs to receive credit. Acceptable events include:

4a. CWC Theatre Department Productions

4b. Concerts produced by Arts in Action

4c. COCR 1000- Cultural Appreciation events

4d. Local High School music performances (Must provide written synapsis)

4e. CWC Single Reed Celebration

4f. Other events with prior approval of your applied instructor (May require additional documentation)

4g. Met Opera Live in HD simulcasts- Fremont County Library

4h. Lander Community Concerts

5. Research composers and selection prior to performances

Students enrolled in MUSC 1055 or MUSC 2070 are also required to participate in recital performance unless otherwise directed by applied instructor.
