MDIA 2280 Documentary

This course focuses advanced storytelling for new media. Skills developed in previous courses are amplified, enhanced, and refined through the development of ideas, storytelling and a greater sophistication in all areas of interactive storytelling. Prerequisite: Completion of MDIA 2300. (3 lect.)

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Produce long-form documentaries for new media.

2. Conduct advanced research under time constraints.

3. Demonstrate advanced camera technique.

4. Perform advanced audio set up, and mixing technique.

5. Demonstrate advanced techniques in lighting.

6. Organize interview video, b-roll, and notes in a scripted story.

7. Edit long-form documentaries for new media using the latest editing software.
