Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Discuss the purpose of video production and the process which is used to accomplish a production.
2. Describe what is used in video production.
3. Discuss changes in video production.
4. Use safe and proper camera handling methods.
5. Assemble the tripod and mount the camera securely.
6. Use proper procedures for auto and manual white balance and focus, plus adjusting for brightness and other features.
7. Use pan and zoom properly.
8. Operate hand held camera properly.
9. Use wireless and wired microphones properly.
10. Employ good script planning by producing properly written scripts for video production including proper use of video, audio and graphics columns in scripting.
11. Discuss the purpose of each production.
12. Explain how a person and/or team determines a project based on increasing each person’s skill level.
13. Describe the elements of each production and how the purpose will be accomplished.
14. Use new methods of planning, shooting and editing in each subsequent production.
15. Capture video and audio.
16. Use the video and audio tracks properly.
17. Create transitions.
18. Employ good transition practices.
19. Use a variety of transitions.
20. Create titles and graphics.
21. Employ good title and graphics usage.
22. Set audio levels that work for the production.
23. Explain how teamwork and communication with project members effects the production process.
24. Produce final video that follows the original script requirements.
25. Produce two video only with no spoken word productions.
26. Produce three types of music videos.
27. Produce two how-to or promotional videos.
28. Produce two or three concept videos.
29. Create and produce a story using video, effects, titles, graphics, sfx, music and spoken word.
30. Produce several original scripts and full productions.
