EDFD 1101 Intro to Education
This course is intended for students who are interested in working in the field of education. It provides an overview of the different aspects of teaching. The teacher certification process, strategies for successful completion of the teacher education program, job opportunities in education and the creation of an electronic portfolio. (2 lect.)

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Identify their personal motivation for pursuing a career in education.

3. Explain the professional expectations of educators, such as web presence, educational requirements, communications skills and professional practices.
4. Develop a preliminary plan for successful completion of the education program requirements.
5. Create an electronic portfolio.
