EDEC 4230 Creating Curriculum for Children with Special Needs

In this course the student will compare curriculum options that are developmentally appropriate for young children with special needs. Completion of EDEC 1300, EDEC 1305, and EDEX 3340. (3 lect.)

1. Distinguish developmentally appropriate curriculum options that can be individualized for children with special needs.

2. Appraise the steps of developing a functional family-centered intervention plan that includes the assessment of needs.

3. Examine different strategies for instruction.

4. Outline the application of Universal Design for Learning in curriculum planning.
