CSMO 1610 Esthetics Concepts

In this course the student will fulfill infection control practices, will learn how to safely and effectively use facial machines, and will learn correct application of makeup techniques. Prerequisite: Completion of CSMO 1600CSMO 1605CSMO 1701CSMO 1702 and concurrent enrollment in CSMO 1620 (3 lect.)

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Demonstrate client consultations covering contraindications and advanced practices in skin analysis.

2. Demonstrate appropriate use of esthetics equipment including, Wood's lamp, rotary brush, steamer, vacuum, high frequency, and galvanic machines.

3. Demonstrate makeup techniques.

4. Demonstrate consultation for makeup and machine facials.

5. Demonstrate infection control practices in working with both makeup and skin care.

6. Explain two advanced practices used in the field of esthetics.

7. Create makeup project using proper infection control procedures.

8. Evaluate skin care products to use based on client consultation.
