CSMO 1505 Nail Technology Lab

This course provides a complete guide to nail technology as it applies to the hands and feet. The student will demonstrate hands-on techniques for nail care, application of nail products, nail art, manicures, and pedicures, as well as hand, arm, feet, and leg massage. The student will apply concepts addressed in CSMO 1500 Intro to Nail Technology. Prerequisite: Completion of CSMO 1701 and CSMO 1702. (6 lab)

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Perform infection control processes as they apply to nail technicians.

2. Perform manicures.

3. Perform pedicures.

4. Perform nail enhancements, including maintenance, crack repair, and removal.

5. Create nail enhancements using monomer liquid and polymer powder products and processes.

6. Demonstrate the proper and safe use of an electric nail drill.

7. Demonstrate effective communication with clients.
