BOTK 1655 Speed and Accuracy Development

This course is designed for the typist with some experience who desires to improve both speed and accuracy in keyboarding. This course may be repeated for a maximum of three credits applicable toward graduation. Recommend: Students will need to meet with the instructor to determine their baseline keyboarding rate (minimum 25-30 words per minute). S/U grading only. (1 lect.) (Max 3)

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Increase baseline keyboarding speed by minimum 5 words per minute and reduce errors to one error per minute by practicing the touch method of keyboarding while completing timed writings.

2. Demonstrate proofreading skills by interpreting proofreaders' marks while keying documents.
