AGRI 4395 Agricultural Capstone

This capstone course provides the student with an opportunity to increase their impact and effectiveness as an agricultural leader and manager. The student will integrate and apply knowledge and skills acquired in the Agricultural Leadership Option of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Management and Leadership Degree by creating a capstone project. (3 lect.)

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Present an agricultural capstone project.

2. Defend insights about different agricultural industries and leadership opportunities.

3. Collaborate with others to identify an area of interest or problem where a new leadership model is needed or an existing model could be modified.

4. Develop a podcast outlining a real world problem and identify potential solutions.

5. Formulate a strategy to implement leadership solutions that address some of the ethical and biological challenges associated with global food and fiber production and distribution issues.

6. Develop a values statement that is appropriate for the Agriculture industry, is culturally sensitive, and recognizes the diversity and complexity of the global community of consumers.
