ECON 312 Healthcare Economics
Health economics is designed to introduce upper-level healthcare management students to the study of healthcare economics. The delivery and production of healthcare differ from the incentives in other consumer goods, and health-related markets constitute a unique topic for study as they contribute a growing portion of the nation's Gross Domestic Product. Topics include how healthcare differs from other consumer goods and services, its distinguishing features in the United States, healthcare reform, models of healthcare finance in other countries, and basic economic evaluation techniques used in this economic subfield.
