CEP 322 From Chants to Cymbals
This course provides a survey of the history of worship music and how various faith communities express their beliefs through songs. Students will consider how worship music has changed throughout the centuries depending on culture and age. In particular, the course will study modern day American and how worship music reflects certain demographic and psychographic preferences. Various places of worship will be visited in order to apply the information learned in this class to the faith communities in our area. This course includes field-experience(s) in local community and/or community-based settings. Students are responsible for their own transportation.
