High School Graduates

To be eligible for admission, students must graduate with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 (on a 4-point scale) and an 18-composite score on the American College Test (ACT). Students will normally be expected to sit for the ACT. However, in instances where students have taken the SAT 1 (prior to March 2016) or the new SAT (March 2016 – Present) examination, these scores may be substituted for the ACT. A minimum combined Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and math score of 950 on the SAT 1 is required on the SAT. In instances where students have taken the new SAT (tests taken prior to March 2016), these scores will be converted to ACT equivalents by using the appropriate conversion chart authorized by the Chancellor. These students will not be required to take the ACT at a later time.

In addition to the requirements listed above, freshmen must have completed the following units of high school credits:

• 4 English (including courses in grammar, composition, and literature)
• 3 Social Studies (including U.S. History)
• 4 Mathematics (three units must be Algebra 1 and higher)
• 3 Science (all courses to be laboratory science)
• 1 Arts
• 2 Foreign Language (two units of the same foreign language)
