EED 280 Early Childhood Development
This course provides students with the foundation in child development from pre-birth through age 8 and prepares students for understanding the social/emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development of young children. Emphasis is placed on emerging issues and trends in the field, the historical and multicultural perspectives on childhood, and the evolution of the study of early childhood development. Theories that have a practical application for early childhood professionals will be emphasized so that developmentally appropriate best practices can be identified. Particular focus will be placed on family influences in early childhood development. A letter grade of "C" is required for this course.
