BIO 330 Fundamentals of Nutrition

The chemistry of nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, vitamins, etc.), and the metabolism of nutrients in health and disease; food calories, energy metabolism, and obesity; and nutritional deficiencies and disease. Three lectures per week. Primarily for biology majors and minors, majors in biology teacher education, students in pre-professional programs (pre-medical, pre-dental, etc.), and students in the health professions.

Students are expected to have a minimum biology background equivalent to BIO 105.
