SPED 351 Early Child SPED Residency

This course allows students to apply knowledge from all previous special education, early education, and professional education courses. It focuses on family, community, and professional relationships as they relate to the delivery of special education services and the identification and distribution of information relating to children with disabilities. Specific emphasis is placed on IFSP and IEP development and the process for referring, assessing, and providing services to children with special needs. Students will also explore ways to provide guidance to paraprofessionals, tutors, volunteers, and other people working within classrooms and collaborate with all stakeholders. Current research will be identified, studied, and applied throughout the course. A letter grade of "C" is required for this course. Prerequisites: SPED, 241, 348, 352; EED 280, 301.
