SOC 368 Sex and Gender
An examination of social forces that construct gender expectations for women and men in both historical and modern times. Emphasis placed on ways in which gender is impacted by social institutions, including mass media, religion, the economy, politics, sports and education. Discussion of social inequalities related to intersection of gender and other social statuses. Both U.S. and global gender dynamics are examined.
