SOC SOC 312 Sociology of Disability
Application of a sociological lens to understand how disability is produced within societies. Examination of ways that social institutions impact those with and without a disability to create privilege and marginalization. Focuses on how experience with disability intersects with race, class, gender, sexuality, religion, and culture exploration of the historical and political foundations of the fight for equal rights of people with disabilities.
