PS 321 Professional Public Relations

Students are taught the basic principles and practices of public relations, which are applicable to for-profit and non-profit organizations. Among the course's topics are the differences between public relations and advertising, the advantages of publicity, how to develop and initiate a public relations campaign, how to prepare press releases, fact sheets, brochures, and press kits, and how to best utilize electronic/digital resources for publicity.
