HIST 444 Native American History

This course examines the history of Native American peoples in what is now the United States, with principal emphasis on the years 1607-1890 and the peoples of the Eastern Woodlands and the Great Plains. Topics include the Peoples; their interaction with European-Americans; Indian confederations; Amer-Indian wars; peace arrangements; dislocation and resistance; economic and political motivations in U.S. westward expansion; and regional, economic, political, and cultural aspects of Native American life and history.
