HIST 442 Hist of American Presidency
This course examines US presidents; the changing role of the presidency; the political, electoral, and constitutional processes of presidential contests; and historical issues related to the presidency. A biographical and historical review of the presidents, their challenges, and accomplishments is set against a background of US history from 1788 to 2000, with special emphasis on key historical developments in which individual presidents affected the development of the office and the nation.
