EDUC 461 Math Meth Mater EEd & Elem Tch
A course for elementary education majors to be scheduled during the methods block. Will include content, and clinical and field-based experiences related to the following: developing elementary students’ abilities to communicate mathematically; structuring classroom activities which support students’ mathematical reasoning abilities, develop numeration and number sense, explore geometry and spatial relationships, develop measurement and related concepts; use calculators and technology as teaching tools and use concrete manipulative materials; and developing elementary students’ confidence in their own mathematical abilities.
