CIS 441 Digital Forensics

Students will learn the fundamentals of industry computer forensics including legal issues, file systems, and data recovery/collection. Various forensic fields will be examined for evidence recognition, analysis, interpretation, and presentation to diverse audiences. Knowledge of the computer forensics profession include legal issues and procedures of computer investigations and digital evidence management, industry-standard computer forensic tools, file systems, data recovery and collections, sample case evaluations, and tools and methodologies used in the science and practice of digital forensics. Pre-req: CIS 485.
