PHAR 3300 Pharmacology I

Pharmacology I is designed as an introductory course for undergraduate students to gain an understanding of how drugs work in the body. Students will be introduced to mechanism of action, absorption, metabolism, distribution, elimination and adverse effects of various classes of drugs. Pharmacology of drugs will be discussed by effects on various organ system and function. Students will also be introduced to the pharmacology of antimicrobial agents. Upon completion of this course, students will achieve a primer that will aid them in future studies of pharmacology and therapeutics at a clinical level, as applied to patients.
