HIST 4341 Ancient Roman History

This course will explore the major political, social, economic, and cultural developments of Republican and Imperial Rome. Using primary documents, the class will develop reasonable criteria for the acceptability of this evidence and explore alternative theories used to explain the history of this empire. Emphasis will be placed on the reinterpretations of the "Fall" of Rome.
