HIST 4340 Ancient Greek History

This course will explore the major political, social, economic, and cultural developments of Ancient Greece up to its absorption into the Roman Empire. Emphasis will be placed on the differences and similarities between the Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic Ages. Using primary documents, the class will develop reasonable criteria for the acceptability of this evidence and explore alternative theories used to explain this period.
