ECON 3300 Internship in Economics

Provides students the opportunity to gain real world experience in their chosen economics career field by working with a participating employer or organization. The students will be supervised by a faculty member acting as a liaison between the employing organization and the academic department to assure compliance with specific learning and experience requirements for the assignment. The employment can be either paid or unpaid, and must include at least 10 hours of work each week over the period of one academic term.

Prerequisite

ECON 2301, ECON 2302, upper-division standing, and approval by both department chair and employer providing internship experience. All students pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Economics, or Bachelor of Science in Materials Management and Logistics from VCoBE, must apply for and be admitted to VCoBE before they are allowed to enroll in the Advanced Business Core and Major coursework for their degree.
