The Dance Program holds placement auditions for future technique courses. Entry auditions are required for acceptance into the BFA program.

Students must fulfill the Core Curriculum requirements. The courses listed below satisfy both degree requirements and Core Curriculum requirements.

Dance Technique – 30 hours (24 advanced)

Students must complete 30 total technique hours, of which 24 hours must be advanced. Students mustchoose two techniques and complete a minimum of 12 hours in each (one technique must be either Modernor Ballet). Additionally, students must complete a minimum of 4 hours from the 2 remaining techniques out of Ballet, Modern, Folklorico , and Flamenco, and a minimum of 2 hours from Elective Techniques.

Admission requirements

Official entry into Dance Program is through an interview process at the end of the required course, Introduction to Dance (DANC 1351), and a 2.50 core curriculum GPA.

Progression requirements

For all technique Courses, a minimum of one year required at each level and/or faculty approval to advance. Must have a grade of ‘C’ or better in all DANC courses.

Graduation requirements

To graduate, a minimum of 120 hours plus GPA's 2.5 or greater in Major, Minor & General Education; a ranking of Satisfactory or higher in Professional Portfolio.
