Program of Study - Health Sciences a with Concentration in Healthcare Administration (MS) - Accelerated Online Program
Purpose
The UTRGV MSHS with a concentration in Health Care Administration online program gives you an expanded set of skills and abilities critical for any health care leader. The curriculum addresses current legal and ethical concerns, health care and quality improvement systems, organizational and financial strategies.
As health care in the United States continues to evolve, the industry demands new leaders who understand its specific challenges with an equal understanding of health care practice and the business operations of a health system. The UTRGV Master of Science in Health Sciences with a concentration in Health Care Administration will prepare you to confidently guide health systems through enormous complexity and constant change. The program, a collaboration between the College of Business and the College of Health Sciences, is designed for experienced working professionals who wish to transition to leadership roles within health care management, administration and operations.
This degree makes you uniquely qualified to:
- Communicate effectively with all members of interprofessional collaboration teams to the best possible outcomes for both the patient and the health system
- Use evidence-based practice to improve hospital and health system procedures and processes
- Analyze, influence and impact health care policy

Admission Requirements
Prospective candidates must meet all requirements for graduate admission to UT Rio Grande Valley, as well as the other requirements listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a recognized international equivalent in allied health science, business, or related field.
- Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 60 semester credit hours.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- Letter of intent.
