SOWK 817 PHILOSOPHY OF SOCIALLY JUST RESEARCH SEMINAR
This seminar is the second of a two-semester sequence on the philosophy of science and socially just research, and is intended to promote critical thinking about the foundations of knowledge and their applications to social work research. The second semester draws attention to applied examples of epistemology, ethics, and evidence in research. Students are encouraged to consider the “ideal” and the “real” in social work (and multidisciplinary) research and to develop a plan for their own work based on the content of the class.
