EXL 809 Organizational Assessment & Evaluation
The focus of this course is problem identification and formulation in organizations and the factors that impact the process. Considerations include the environmental context of identification and solutions, processes formulating problem definitions, and emergent themes of problem identification and formulation within organizations. Emphasis is placed on the identification, collection, and analysis of data that impact organizational problem solving, and the use of the results to guide future decisions. Organizational metaphors provide lens through which organizational behavior is viewed and shaped. By integrating metaphorical tools with their knowledge of classical and contemporary organizations, candidates analyze their own organizations and develop plans for enhanced performance and continuous improvement. This course also includes operations management, organization behavior, and management of information systems. The case study method is highlighted.
