HSC 455 Neuroscience

This course discusses the normal structure of the nervous system (such as the neuronal pathways involved in movement, sensation, vision, hearing, language, and cognitive functions) and the relationship of that structure to physiologic function. The cellular and molecular bases of neurologic diseases are discussed. Topics include neurotransmitters, synaptic transmission, neurochemistry and neuropharmacology. Lecture and lab are integrated. (Same as BIO 455) A writing-intensive course.
