LANG 326 Ojibwe Language IV
Ojibwe Language IV is the second part of the Junior level of language classes and builds off Ojibwe III. All four-verb types (VAI, VII, VTA, VTI) are examined with an emphasis on VII verbs (verbs that are inanimate and intransitive) and their conjugations, negations, dependent, independent, and command forms. This course will continue to build fluency in the Ojibwe language through deeper language study and the introduction of more words and phrases that can be utilized. Emphasis in this course will focus on further study of correct pronunciation, writing Ojibwe, and oral fluency. Students will continue to build on and expand their Ojibwe vocabulary and grammar and articulate Ojibwe culture and philosophies through the language. In this course, Ojibwe will be utilized at a more complex level than Ojibwe III and students will be required to communicate mostly in Ojibwe throughout the course. This will be demonstrated through articulating thoughts and ideas more comprehensively in speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills.
