Undergraduate Capstone Policy

In accordance with the University’s Transfer Credit Policy, students are required to complete their Capstone course solely through Thomas Edison State University.   To ensure that students are appropriately prepared to be successful in their Capstone endeavors, students enrolled in the University's bachelor's degree programs will need to complete a minimum of 100 credits in the program before registering for a Capstone course. Students enrolled in a Capstone required associate degree program will need to complete a minimum of 45 credits before registering for the Capstone.

In addition, undergraduate students wishing to register for a Capstone course must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher before they can obtain permission to register.

As always, the University encourages students to schedule an advising appointment to discuss program requirements and course options. Students may call 609-292-2803, Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (ET), or email academicadvising@tesu.edu at any time.  Approval to take a Capstone course must be requested of an academic advisor.  Approval by an academic advisor is indicated by an approved petition to register.
