PHTH 756 PT Continuum of Care III: Outpatient

This is the third of three continuum of care courses. This course focuses on the outpatient physical therapy setting. This course continues to use the 4 planned case studies in the areas of stroke, below knee amputation, spina bifida and total knee replacement to compare and contrast possible client/patient progression and recovery. Students learn about setting-specific assessment and treatment, including return to work models of care. Students work to become proficient in the fast-paced environment that requires treatment of multiple clients simultaneously in a timely manner throughout the workday. Students receive training in billing, managerial skills, and public relations.
