NURS 622 Principles of Care in Advanced Family Nursing Practice

This course focuses on family health theory and its application to advanced practice nursing in primary care. Key areas include developmental stages of family development, assessment of the family and communities, impact of acute and/or chronic illness on the family, and cultural aspects of family health problems. Evidence-based family-centered inquiry will be the basis for determining best practice health care interventions within the context of current health care policy and financing.
