EDME 521 TESOL Methods and Assessment with Field Experience

This course is an introduction to the theories and current practices of TESOL methodology and assessment. Topics include instructional approaches, lesson planning, evaluation and utilization of resources and technologies for specific contexts, and classroom management. Students will develop an understanding of the purposes and types of second/foreign language assessment, and will apply this understanding in their instructional planning. Students will investigate instructional practices appropriate for the development of reading, writing, speaking and listening, including the use of resources and technologies for these specific skill areas in varied contexts, including online learning. Supervised field experience required.
