REL 340 Genetics and Ethics in Film

This course critically examines the depiction of genetics in film, including both the portrayal of the possibilities of genetic technologies and their ethical implications, including how some genetic technologies may conflict with our Mercy College Values. Topics will include but are not limited to de-extinction (Jurassic Park), genetic discrimination (Gattaca), and human cloning (The Boys from Brazil).
